-Following this year’s series of romantic holiday-themed movies to watch from the comfort of your own home
Alana Higman and her family compete to win the team’s Fan of the Year competition, in a process judged by Director of Fan Engagement Derrick. The movie was filmed on location in Independence, Missouri’s historic Independence Square, which actually looks like this year-round. The locations that served as the Higman family’s grocery store and Norma and Nick’s BBQ restaurant are also real family-owned stores.

The square also has Christmas lights like the one in the movie.. I have to give the writers and producers here credit for trying to do something very different in a Christmas movie story, even if Christmas meant wearing the Chiefs’ slip every time the team has a game on Christmas Day. So they pulled off a big stunt, but they only pulled it off once.
He has a unique style that’s entertaining
Maybe I should say they threw in the towel and got nothing but interference, but no bombs. Hunter King and Tyler Hynes had some decent chemistry here, and we’ve liked Tyler in a few of these movies. However, some things in this movie took us out of the story, like the mom and grandma practically throwing Hunter into a stranger’s lap as soon as he walked in the door.

Then there was the whole thing about how upset Hunter was because he “didn’t believe in hats”; it was funny, especially when it was the best thing the writers could do to add some tension to the romance that unfolded. A lot of the “best fan” stuff; the story worked, and Ed Begley, Jr. Parkinson’s made him look 15 years older than he should at 75, which is a shame, but it’s not his fault.

Some of this year’s movies have featured an annoying supporting character who goes overboard in an unpleasant way, and this one is one of them. The owner of the delight almost had me putting this movie down within the first five minutes. We’re not sorry we saw this, despite a few plot issues, but we won’t be going back for a rerun.
